Celebrating Valentine’s Day @ Meatology

Valentine’s Day is synonymous with celebrating with your loved ones, especially your significant other, to show your love and appreciation. This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday and many couples will take the opportunity to dine out for this special occasion.

Meatology has long been a place of choice for many couples. According to its owner and chef, Yenni Law, Meatology has borne witness to many marriage proposals over the years since it was first known as Boathouse.

“Our restaurant is known for being quiet and intimate; which is perfect for couples to spend those precious moments together.” When asked about how couples have proposed in the restaurant, she cites examples of her customer taking their wives-to-be for dinner and then surprising them with a ring that is concealed in one of the dishes served. This had to be pre-planned with the staff beforehand to ensure that the plan is executed to perfection. Another customer has also arranged with his friends to float balloons from the ground floor to the balcony with the words “Will you marry me?” where the wife-to-be would be sitting at.

For those who are not ready to get hitched or are already happily married, Chef Law has already prepared a special Valentine’s Day menu. This year’s menu include pomelo and shrimp salad with fresh herbs and citrus dressing (starters for her), crabcakes with creamy escargot and white wine (starters for him), chicken breast with cognac mushroom cream sauce (mains for her), fillet mignon with red wine cocktail onion flambé (mains for him) and pavlova with cherry berry flambé for dessert.

For those who like to have a freer choice of mains, the standard ala carte menu is still available. Thus couples are not restricted to selecting only from the Valentine’s Day menu.

“Our regular customers have their clear favourites so even on special occasions, they still want to be able to order from the standard menu,” says Chef Law.

Meatology is now taking reservations for Valentine’s Day. Call now at 03-7727 4426 to make this a special occasion to remember!
